乔司千人坑

第七批浙江省级文物保护单位

1938年2月17日(农历戊寅年正月十八),日军遭国民党第10集团军62师袭击后,于次日拂晓包围乔司,对手无寸铁的群众实行报复性烧杀,遇难同胞达1360余人,烧毁房屋7000余间,制造了骇人听闻的乔司大屠杀惨案。遇难同胞遗体被丢弃在保庆桥畔的池塘内,故名“千人坑”。1941年,当地医生方寿僧出资收殓残骨,瘗之以冢,立碑直书“戊寅公墓”四字。抗战胜利后,为纪念乔司遇难同胞,在土冢原址上重建公墓。

The seventh batch of Zhejiang provincial cultural relics protection units

On February 17, 1938, after being attacked by the 62nd Division of the 10th Kuomintang Army, the Japanese army surrounded Qiao Si at dawn, retaliatory burning of unarmed masses, killing more than 1,360 people and destroying 7,000 houses. The bodies of the dead compatriots were dumped in the pond near the bridge, hence the name "thousands of people pit". In 1941, the local doctor Fang Shousheng paid for the collection of bones, said to the tomb, erected a tablet "Wu Yin Cemetery" four characters. After the victory of the War of Resistance, in memory of the victims of Qiao Si compatriots, on the original site of the cemetery reconstruction.
